- Story Text: The Viet Cong presented a new peace formula at the Paris talks on Thursday (February 3) -- and rejected U.S. President Nixon's eight-point peace plan.
The Viet Cong proposal stipulated that the U.S. Government should set a date for total withdrawal of troops from Vietnam, and that the South Vietnamese Government of President Nguyen van Thieu should resign immediately.
After the meeting, the negotiators spoke to newsmen.
