- Story Text: Uruguayan migratory current begin five years ago approximately. Uruguay a little southamerican country of aprox 187.000 square meters with 2.500.000 inhabitants is facing a sharp economical trouble. The big Tupamaro guerrila was practically destroyed by the army at the end of 1972. The economical situation began to deteriorate and therefore because of political troubles and lack of work emigration current began to flow. At first artist and intelectuals and scientist were on the first line. One of the garget is the Argentine republic the neighbour country. It is estimate that one million and a half of uruguayan is living and working there. In the United States about 20.000 uruguayan working there. In Australia 30.000 uruguayans working. Each month a charter plane comes to Montevideo to pick up "clients". The emigration to Argentina is about 100 persons per day. The 20% of the people living in economic hotels are uruguayans. Therefore the aspect of Uruguay is very sad. Empty streets. Empty football staedmus. middle age people and a tense ealu.
