- Story Text: The Russian Interior Ministry on Thursday (June 15) invited interior and justice ministers of the Group of Eight countries to a demonstration of Russia's training equipment to counter terrorism and drug trafficking and increase airport security.
The G8 ministers are in Moscow to attend a two-day long conference on international efforts against terrorism and transnational crimes such as drug trafficking, illegal migration and cybercrime.
The demonstration took place near Moscow's Domodedovo airport. It also included a tour inside the Russian Interior Ministry Continuing Education Institute.
During the meeting Russia's Interior Minister, Rashid Nurgaliyev called on G8 member states to update their anti-criminal and antiterrorist policies.
The meeting takes place as Russia is preparing to host the G8 Presidential meeting next month in July.
