Horn of Africa arrived in Djibouti on Thursday.
The frigate Bayern carrying 150 German navy troops will
be followed on Sunday (January 27) by the frigates Koln and
Emden, along with two supply ships. A total of 1800 German
troops will support the US Enduring Freedom operation, which
is part of the global effort to fight terrorism.
"The goal is very clear: to be part of operation
"Enduring Freedom". The goal is to rid the world of
terrorism", said rear admiral Gottfried Hochi.
Eleven ships in all will be on patrol to ensure the free
passage of ships around the Arabian Peninsula.
