  • Story Text: Six days after losing her husband, Jenna Jacobs gave
    birth to their son, Gabriel Benjamin Jacobs. Gabby was born a
    day before Ari Jacobs would have turned 30.



    Almost a week after Ari Jacobs was lost in the World
    Trade Center (WTC) bombing, his wife Jenna gave birth to their son,
    Gabriel Bemjamin Jacobs. "Gabby" was born on Monday, September
    16, a day before what would have been his father's 30th
    birthday.

    On the morning of September 11, Ari Jacobs doubled back
    before leaving to work to give his wife a hug. He was an
    executive vice president with Kaplin Systems, a software
    company, and was rushing off to a breakfast meeting at
    Windows on the World. A his few minutes later, stuck in
    traffic and bored, he called his wife to tell her he loved
    her. Sunday (September 23) would have been their first wedding
    anniversary.

    The new mother said she would not live her life in fear
    because of the attack in New York on September 11. "I think
    this was not entirely isolated, but a rare event. The people
    who did it were horrible people. But the world is a safe
    place, more or less, and not to live your life in fear because
    something horrible happens to you once", Jenna said.

    For Jenna, the last few days have been one filled with
    family and friends.

    A memorial service is planned at the couple's home for Ari
    Jacobs next Sunday, September 30.
