- Story Text: Unidentified gunmen fired on a passenger bus in Pakistan's southern city of Karachi on Thursday (September 13), killing six people and wounding several others, police said.
Zubair Mahmood, a senior police officer, told Reuters the killers were on motorbikes and as the vehicle neared the Karachi university campus, they opened fire on it.
Altaf Hussain, who was left injured, said from the hospital bed that the attacker were more than one.
"An indiscriminate firing hit the vehicle. Several dead bodies fell upon me. I could just see a man who was firing shots. After that I was buried under dead bodies. There were others too, who were firing shots but I could not see them," he said.
One eye witness said an explosion was also heard after the gunfire, another said a masked gunman also hurled a grenade at the bus The motive behind the gunfire was not immediately clear but police said they were investigating. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
