  • Story Text: At least one civilian was killed and five others wounded on Wednesday (March 26) when a mortar round landed in a residential area in southern Baghdad, police said.
    The attack took place in al-Salhiya residential complex of central Baghdad.
    T target of the mortar attack was not clear.

    "What did we do? Where shall we go? We are staying as we are displaced family in this place, we do not know where shall we go now! If we go to the place that we were living in before, we will be killed and here we have been attacked by mortar shells. Where shall we go? We have children and families. This is unacceptable," said Abu Ali, a witness.
    A barrage of mortar rounds had fell down on residential areas in Baghdad and the greenzone as well as the Iraqi and US forces are launching a military offensive against Shi'ite militia in Baghdad and number of Iraqi cities.
