  • Story Text: A church in central Malaysia was struck by arsonist early Monday (January 11), raising the total number of churches attacked in the country since Friday, to nine.
    The main entrance of the Sidang Injil Borneo (SIB) evangelical church in the southern state of Sembilan was found with scorch marks at 8.30am local time. No one was believed to have been injured in the incident.
    The unprecedented attacks coma after Malaysia's High Court ruled that a Catholic newspaper can use the word "Allah" to describe the Christian God in its Malay-language publications.
    Last Friday, Malaysian Muslims started protest at mosques and sparked arson attacks on at least six churches and one convent school.
