- Story Text: A suicide bomber blew himself up inside a police compound in the town of Swabi, 70 km (43 miles) northwest of the capital Islamabad on Monday (November 1), killing two policemen and wounding six others, police said.
The bomber, along with a group of armed militants, attacked the compound which houses police offices and residences.
Police said militants exchanged gunfire with policemen and fled the scene. Later in the day, police shot dead another man said to be a bomber, as they spotted him near the headquarters.
One of the wounded policemen, Faqeer Nawab, was taken to a hospital in Swabi while the rest of the injured were sent to other hospitals.
"It was 9AM or 10 past 9, (when) the firing started, there was a blast after the firing. I saw two, three armed men. They started firing, and then I was wounded," Nawab told reporters from his hospital bed.
The two bodies were also transported to the Swabi hospital.
