Story Text: British convoy comes under attack from a roadside bomb near the British and American consulate buildings in Basra. A roadside bomb exploded in Basra hitting a British military convoy on Friday (June 22). The explosion took place in the vicinity of the American and British consulates in central Basra.
The British military have not made any comment on possible casualties.
One young witness said he heard the device as it exploded at about 0630 in the morning near the British convoy.
152 British soldiers have died in Iraq since the U.S.-led Invasion in March 2003.
