- Story Text: A surgeon treating the wounded at a hospital in rebel-held Ajdabiyah issued a complaint on Friday (April 8) against NATO air power enforcing the no-fly zone over Libya.
On Thursday (April 7), NATO planes killed five rebel fighters, after mistakenly believing the tank convoy they were in was armour belonging to forces of the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
"Some eyewitness saw the tanks, here near Ajdabiyah, said Ignashy, "where is NATO? These are tanks, in the city. I don't know what's happening really," complained surgeon Mohammad Ignashy.
"NATO strike us yesterday. Today tanks of the Gaddafi forces," the surgeon said, shrugged to indicate the attack and adding, "where is NATO?"
Rebels at the western boundary of Ajdabiyah, gateway to their Benghazi stronghold, fled from an artillery bombardment on Friday, but there was no sign of a government advance. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
