Story Text: A roadside bomb exploded on Thursday (April 20) close to a U.S. military convoy in southern Baghdad, setting ablaze one U.S. vehicle, police and witnesses said.
They said that the bomb struck an armoured vehicle was driving in Saydiya neibourhood and wounding at two U.S. soldiers.
"A bomb went off as a convoy of U.S. armoured vehicles and Humvees was driving by. Two of them, the Americans were hurt in the attack, we saw them but they prevented any one from getting closer. One armoured vehicle was set ablaze," said an eyewitness.
Television footage showed an armoured vehicle engulfed in smoke and firemen nearby as U.S. troops secured the area.
The U.S. military could not immediately be reached for comment on the attack.
