- Story Text: The proposed testing of the Anglo-French supersonic airliner, Concorde, due to take place in Kenya from next week, has been criticised by Mr. Perez Olindo, the Director of Kenya's National Parks. He has condemned the visit in the strongest possible terms, saying that it will represent a "very great health risk", mainly to young children and expectant mothers.
Concorde is due to arrive in Kenya on 26 February, but it is not yet decided how long it will stay there. The duration of the tests will depend on prevailing weather conditions.
The manufacturers of the aircraft have denied Mr. Olindo's allegations, and have said that the plane will be flying well below the speed of sound because it will be fitted with external equipment.
