- Story Text: A Hizbollah official has been wounded in a rocket
attack in South Lebanon.
An Israeli Apache helicopter fired three rockets
at a car in Barish village in south Lebanon on Friday
(February 4), moderately wounding its driver, according to
unconfirmed reports.
The victim, believed to be a Hizbollah official, managed
to escape from the car before it was directly hit.But he was
wounded by another rocket fired in his direction.
A third rocket struck a nearby building, slightly wounding
30-year-old Lamia Ezzedine, her one-year-old daughter and two
other family members, according to eyewitnesses.
A Hizbollah spokesman in Beirut said the Islamist group
did not have accurate information on the attack.
The raid, on Barish village 13 km (eight miles) east of
the city of Tyre, was the second targeting guerrilla targets
on Friday.
Israeli warplanes had earlier struck suspected Hizbollah
positions around Nabatiyeh town and Iqlum Altufah region.
Hizbollah and other guerrillas are waging a war of
attrition to oust Israeli troops and their South Lebanon Army
militia allies from south Lebanon.
