- Story Text: An unknown gunman attacked a police station in the
northern city of Mosul, wounding one Iraqi policeman and
two passers by, police said.
The gun attack in Mosul, 450 kilometres north of
Baghdad, was carried out on Tuesday (October 28).
It happened 24 hours after suicide bombers killed 35
people and wounded 230 others in attacks on three of police
stations and the headquarters of the ICRC (International
Committee of the Red Cross) in Baghdad.
"The driver of the car opened fire at the police
station and the policemen returned fire. Clashes took place
an d the attacker was arrested. One policeman was wounded
in the attack," Captain Hani Maeen said.
Mustapha Nizar said he had brought an injured woman to
the hospital after the shooting.
Describing the attack Mustapha Nizar said: "The
shootings started suddenly, but I do not know where they
came from. When I heard shooting I took cover."
