  • Story Text: Unidentified attackers have set fire to a synagogue and
    hurled petrol bombs at a Jewish school in northern Paris
    suburbs where Middle East violence has created tension between
    Jews and Arab.

    No one was hurt in either incident, which occured
    before dawn on Friday (13 October), but an office was
    destroyed by fire in the attack on the synagogue at Bondy.

    Police say that it was definitely arson, although they
    have made no arrests.

    Several petrol bombs were thrown in the other attack
    against a Jewish school at Saint Ouen, a tough suburb adjacent
    to Paris but damage there was limited.

    Police also found anti-semitic graffiti on walls in a
    largely immigrant-inhabited area of another suburb, Le Blanc
    Mesnil.
