- Story Text: A U.S. military tanker caught fire after being
attacked by Iraqi insurgents.
A U.S. military tanker went on fire shortly after an
attack by Iraqi insurgents on Saturday (May 1). One U.S
soldier was slightly injured in the incident and was
evacuated from the scene.
The tanker came under machinegun fire, appraently from
Iraqi insurgents, while driving in a military convoy on the
Khadra highway towards the town of Fallujah.
U.S troops carried out a brief search operation in the
area.
