- Story Text: Two soldiers injured by a granade attack in Kabul have
arrived in the U.S. base Ramstein in Germany.
Two U.S. soldiers and their interpreter were wounded in
a grenade attack on Tuesday (December 17) in Kabul.
The U.S. military said it was treating the incident very
seriously and, if necessary, would take extra security steps
to protect American troops.
Authorities said they still were investigating Tuesday's
attack in which a grenade was thrown into a jeep carrying two
U.S. Special Forces soldiers and driven by their Afghan
interpreter opposite the blue-domed Pul-i-Khishti mosque near
the presidential palace.
The attack came just days after four Afghan children were
killed and three wounded by a mortar bomb fired during an army
training exercise.
