WBA world welterweight champion Keith Thurman and WBC world welterweight champion Danny Garcia faced off in Brooklyn on Friday (March 3) ahead of their unification fight.
The two boxers weighed in not far from the Barclay's Center, the site of Saturday (March 4) night's fight.
Thurman (27-0, 22 KOs, 1NC) weighed 146.25 pounds. Garcia (33-0, 19 KOs) weighed 146.5.
Thurman, 28, said, "For me it's 21 years in the game. This is my dreams coming true. I've been boxing since I was seven years old. I put my heart, I put my soul into it. Ya'll seen how I fought last time I was up in this arena. It ain't easy to take that belt from me. It ain't easy and Danny is gonna learn that tomorrow night."
Garcia said, "I'm a true champion and true champions take on anybody. They say he's one of the best at welterweight. Well, I feel like I'm the best welterweight in the world and tomorrow I'm ma show the world why I'm one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world." - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
