- Story Text: A roadside bomb went off next to civilians in al-Doura district of southern Baghdad on Saturday (March 13), wounding five people, police said.
They said that the attack wrecked a number of civilian cars and damaged nearby shops.
"We were working here to earn a living when a blast took place. We went to the scene to see what happened and evacuated wounded people with amputated legs and arms. We do not know what was the cause of the blast," said Abu Rasha, who was wounded in the attack.
There was no immediate indication of who was behind the blast but it comes a week after Iraq's parliamentary elections with the country still waiting for the results.
Violence has fallen sharply in Iraq since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion, but the insurgency unleashed by the invasion remains in the country. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
