- Story Text: A car bomb exploded near a popular restaurant in northeastern Baghdad on Tuesday (October 31), killing three civilians and wounding 10 others, police said.
They said that the car was parked outside Al-Ibtissam fast-food restaurant in Palestine Street.
"It was a car bomb in Palestine Street and this is a piece of the bomb, which was used to rig the car., Around three or four people. Three people were killed," said an Iraqi soldier who was at site.
At least 70 Iraqis were killed across Iraq on Monday (October 30) in one of the bloodiest days in the capital in weeks.
Shi'ite Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has said earlier that he could get violence under control in six months if U.S. forces gave his forces more weapons and responsibility. He also said his priority was fighting Sunni insurgents and al Qaeda, rather than disarming Shi'ite militias. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
