- Story Text: The Colombian capital Bogota was hit on Thursday (October 23) by five simultaneous explosions.
Some 11 people were slightly injured as the small devices exploded in different parts of Bogota. A bus was also set on fire.
One eye-witness described what happened at the scene of one explosion.
" It was simply a very big explosion, very strong but we were all working quietly and what can I tell you, it was an unexpected explosion and we reacted immediately as the situation demanded and when we got out everyone was in the street, all the buildings were being evacuated,"
said witness Santiago Castano.
Police said the devices appeared to be similar and had been placed in rubbish bins on lamposts. The police did not immediately say who they believed to be behind the attacks. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
