- Story Text: A roadside bomb killed one person and wounded six others in Sadr City, the vast Shi'ite district of north-eastern Baghdad on Sunday (February 15), police said.
The bomb was planted near a commuter bus, they said.
The attack came as Shiites across Iraq marked the Arbain rite, commemorating the fortieth day since the death of the Prophet Mohammed's grandson Imam Hussein in 680 A.D. in Kerbala.
Forty-two people were killed and scores wounded in a suicide attack carried out by a woman on a Shiite pilgrimage route to Kerbala on Friday.
Despite a sharp drop in violence in Iraq over the last 18-months, suicide attacks and car bombs remain common. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
