- Story Text: Four civilians were wounded by a roadside bomb in Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, detonated when a police patrol was passing nearby, police said.
A roadside bomb exploded near a passing convoy of police in the northern oil-rich city of Kirkuk on Saturday, police and witnesses said.
They said that a bomb exploded as a police patrol was driving in the mainly Turkmen-populated district of Musala in the centre of the city, damaging a police pickup truck
and when policemen and people gathered to evacuate the wounded another bomb went off.
Eight people including six policemen were wounded in the attack.
Kirkuk, which sits on some of Iraq's richest oil reserves, is divided among Arabs, Kurds and Turkmen, all of whom lay claim to the city. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
