  • Story Text: A car bomb killed eight people and wounded 10 on Wednesday (December 27) in Talbiya, a Baghdad district near the Shi'ite militia stronghold of Sadr City, police said.
    Police said a parked car exploded near a restaurant on a busy commercial street. All the casualties were civilians.
    Baghdad is the epicentre of sectarian violence that is killing an average of at least 100 people a day, according to U.N. estimates.
