  • Story Text: A roadside bomb explodes next to an Iraqi military convoy in southern Iraq wounding two Iraqi soldiers.
    A roadside bomb went off next to an Iraqi military convoy in the southern Iraqi city of Basra early on Thursday (February 14), wounding two Iraqi soldiers, the Iraqi army said.
    They said that the attack took place in the centre of the southern city.
    Security has deteriorated in Basra over the past year as rival factions from Iraq's Shi'ite Muslim majority tussle for a share of the power over its vast oil resources.
