- Story Text: A roadside bomb killed two labourers in central Baghdad on Thursday (June 1), Ministry of Interior sources said.
The blast, which took place in Tayaran Square wounded 21 people, the sources said.
Insurgents often attack labourers as part of a campaign to topple the U.S.-backed government.
Distraught relatives of the victims arrived at the Yarmouk hospital on Thursday morning to recover the bodies of their loved ones who were killed in a mortar attack late on Wednesday (May 31).
Police sources said that a mortar attack in the southern outskirts of Baghdad killed nine people and wounded 17.
They said four mortar bombs landed south of Baghdad's Dora district. No other details were available. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
