In the deadliest incident, a bomb ripped through a crowded vegetable market in the capital and killed at least 25 people and wounded 65.

Some of the people were shopping and children were buying sandwiches and others were queuing for bread and most of them were children. suddenly the blast occurred and we all run out and rushed to help people who were caught on fire. We put off the people who were on fire and almost of them were children. The situation was very tragic," said Karim Alwan, a resident of the neighbourhood.
