- Story Text: A roadside bomb killed three people and wounded 28 others in a crowded Baghdad market on Saturday (June 10), according to police.
The bomb targeted a police patrol near a restaurant in the al-Sadriya market in central Baghdad, but only civilians were killed.
People at the market said the blast was caused by a bomb hidden in a bag left near a restaurant.
"A bomb inside a bag was placed here and many people were killed. I counted them. Among us three were hurt including a child, Rasoul's son, whose foot was wounded," said Baha, who works at the restaurant.
U.S. and Iraqi officials have warned that the death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, leader of al Qaeda in Iraq, in an air strike north of Baghdad on Wednesday (June 07) would not end the guerrilla and sectarian violence plaguing Iraq. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
