- Story Text: Two roadside bombs went off in a residential area of central Baghdad on Wednesday (May 17), wounding four civilians, police said.
An eyewitness told Reuters the second bomb went off as police as residents reached the scene.
"At approximately 0600 a.m. (0200GMT) an explosion took place and as you can see, there is damage and this wrecked car too. Shortly after, when police and people gathered near the scene of blast, another bomb exploded," Ali Hamid said.
Earlier in the day, Iraqi and United States (U.S.) military forces raided a dental practice in central Baghdad, Iraqi police said.
Police said the U.S. and Iraqi military forces stormed al-Elwiya specialist dental centre in al-Firdous square in central Baghdad, causing damage to the offices.
"At 0300 a.m. (1100 GMT) U.S. forces supported by an Iraqi soldiers raided the centre, breaking doors and the desks of doctors," Kadhim Jassim, a guard at the centre said.
There was no immediate explanation from U.S. and Iraqi forces as to the reason for the raid. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
