  • Story Text: One person was killed and several wounded when a car bomb exploded close to a market in a Shi'ite district of eastern Baghdad on Saturday (January 21), police said.
    The authorities had warned people of a probable upsurge in violence by Sunni Arab rebels after the announcement on Friday of election results confirming the continued dominance of Shi'ite Islamists.
