- Story Text: Bomb scares and hoax telephone calls disrupted life in Nairobi, Kenya, for the fourth day in a row on Tuesday (4 March) as police throughout the country searched for the bombers who blew up a bus on Saturday (1 March) killing 27 people.
Two large Nairobi buildings were among those evacuated and searched after anonymous telephones calls. At one stage the Kenyatta Conference Hall was cordoned off as police made an unsuccessful search for bombs.
The old East Africa Trading Company building were also evacuated and searched, again without finding any explosive devices.
Most of the 35 bus passengers who survived the powerful blast are in a critical condition. The bus was loaded with passengers and was about the depart for Mombasa when the middle section was blown apart.
