  • Story Text: France - and the Paris headquarters of the International police organization, Interpol, was damaged by a bomb on Thursday (28 October) planted in the garden of the building.

    SYNOPSIS: Shortly after the blast, in the St. Cloud suburb, and anonymous telephone caller told the mass circulation daily newspaper, France-Soir, that a group of Spanish "deportees" were responsible. The blast co-incided with a visit by King Juan Carlos of Spain, who arrived in Paris the previous day.

    No-one was injured in the blast, but damage to the outside of the building was considerable. The interior was undamaged. The bomb had been placed in a garden at the rear of the seven-storey building. Police said they themselves had no information that a Spanish group was responsible.
