- Story Text: A bomb exploded in a car parked near the Japanese Ambassador's residence in Buenos Aires on Monday (8 September) as a new wave of violence escalated in the Argentine capital.
An 18-year-old student died the following day from injuries from the bomb. Two other students were found near the central city of Cordoba, their bodies riddled with bullets.
They were the latest victims of political violence in Argentina which has claimed at least 411 lives this year -- 25 of them in the last week.
Four other people were injured -- two of them seriously in the bomb blast. Twenty cars were smashed beyond repair. The front of the Ambassador's residence, the headquarters of a private university and several nearby buildings were also damaged.
Police said they believed the bomb exploded prematurely and was not aimed at the embassy residence. Ambassador Mayasuki Harigai left Buenos Aires last month at the end of his term of office.
The Bomb explosion took terrorism closer to the general public than all recent attacks in the capital.
Another bomb blast occurred on Wednesday (9 September), damaging the front of a state high school.
