north of Baghdad.
At least six Iraqis were killed and 10 wounded when
a bomb exploded in a market north of Baghdad on Wednesday
(August 11), hospital sources said.
They said the explosion occurred in Khan Bani Saad
village, near Baquba and about around 40 km (25 miles)
north of the capital, Baghdad. There were no further details.
"A bomb exploded here. I saw two dead bodies, here a
young man and an elderly," said an eyewitness.
Insurgents trying to force foreign troops out of Iraq
and destabilise the U.S.-backed interim government of Prime
Minister Iyad Allawi launch regular attacks across the
country, especially in areas west and north of Baghdad.
