- Story Text: A top Berlin hotel evacuated after a bomb threat.
Some 400 to 500 guests were evacuated from central
Berlin's Hilton hotel on Gendarmenmarkt square on Monday
(April 26) evening, police said.
They did not give any other details on the threat ,but
said they were investigating.
A spokeswoman for the Hilton hotel in this tourist area
of the German capital confirmed the building was evacuated.
An American tourist visiting from Philadelphia and who
gave her name as Karen told Reuters Television "they gave
no reason" for the evacuation.
"They just said that they were evacuating and we still
have no idea what has been going on, but fortunately, we
were dressed. Some people weren't," the woman said,
laughing.
Police did not rule out that the building could be
searched all night.
