- Story Text: See Reuter report Two policemen, a veteran police sapper Mefakeach Mishne Albert levi and Mefakeach Schiff of the Jerusalem Area police force were killed and five persons were injured, when a bomb went off in B'nai Borith street late last night, as Albert Levy was just about to dismantle it. The bomb, booby trapped into a tin of paint, was discovered by a passer-by and contained app 250gr of explosives plus a load of nails and pieces of metal to work as shrapnel. The area was cordoned off up to and incl. this morning (29/4) for fear of possible additional bombs in the area and until the police had finished their investigation on the spot. A hole in the ground bears witness to the explosion which also caused several windows to break in nearby houses. Blood stains were still visible this morning.- Amongst the wounded at Jerusalem's Sha'are Zedek hospital were Pakad Shmuel Mizraki, attended to by a nurse as I filmed him and members of his family around the bed, large bouquets of flowers on his night table. In the bed next to him was Police corporal Meir Yadid, his wife at his bedside. Both seemed definitely out of danger.-The funerals of the dead police officers took place in the early afternoon with a large crowd of colleagues and friends and many Jerusalemites just paying their respect to two devoted officers.
