- Story Text: An Israel bank in Paris has been attacked by bombers just hours after Israel announced it would attend a Middle East peace summit in Cairo.
SYNOPSIS: The blast occurred on Sunday (27 November), at the Bank Leumi of Israel in Boulevard des Italians in central Paris.
The bank's glass facade was shattered and cars were damaged, but no-one was injured in the attack, for which a group calling itself the Tel Al Zaatar Organisation has claimed responsibility. This group takes its name from a Lebanese Palestinian refugee camp.
A few minutes later, a second explosion rocked the offices of the French newspaper, 'L' Unite du Partisocialiste'. The same day, police in Cannes safely dismantled a time bomb found in the toilets of a hall where 500 members of a Franco-Israeli Friendship Group were meeting.
