- Story Text: A huge blast which emergency workers believe was caused by a gas leak killed three people in in the coastal Israeli city of Netanya early on Friday (June 17).
Police were still investigating what caused the midnight explosion that rocked a four-story building, but a fire department officer told Israel Radio that all signs pointed to an accidental gas explosion.
"This gas (canister) blew up and created this massive explosion, we currently have information of three dead and around 30 injured. We are currently scanning the building room by room, also the basements," a local police commander told reporters at the site. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
