- Story Text: Five Palestinian civilians were hurt in an Israeli air strike on a Hamas weapons van near Beit Lahiya late Sunday (July 9).
The Israeli army released video of the strike showing the van being hit and blowing up. The Israeli army says secondary blasts from explosives aboard the van can also be seen.
Early on Monday (July 10), just after midnight, Israeli aircraft bombed and destroyed an Islamic Jihad weapons depot in Gaza City. There were no casualties in that raid.
The Israeli army had no immediate comment.
The attacks came a day after Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert vowed to continue an offensive in Gaza without any time limit, and rejected a Hamas bid for a ceasefire, demanding first the release of an Israeli soldier abducted on June 25.
Israel launched a Gaza offensive on June 28 after the abduction of a soldier in a cross border raid and to put a halt to rocket fire at Israel by Palestinian militants. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
