  • Story Text: U.S. navy ship, the Bainbridge arrived at Kenya's Mombasa port early on Thursday (April 16) amid tight security, with FBI and U.S, marines standing guard as the ship docked.
    Upon docking, marines aboard the ship raised an U.S. flag.
    The Bainbridge was the same ship that helped rescue American cargo ship captain Richard Phillips last Sunday (April 12).
    U.S. snipers killed three Somali pirates and freed Phillips, who had been held hostage for five days.
    It was not immediately clear if Phillips was still on board the Bainbridge.
    A few hours earlier, U.S.-flagged cargo ship Liberty Sun also docked at Kenya's Mombasa port, after a pirate attack off the coast of Somalia on Tuesday. The Liberty was rescued by the U.S. navy after sending a distress call.
