- Story Text: Planes have taken off from Aviano airbase for the
twenty-sixth night of the air war against Yugoslavia.
F16 and F18 fighter planes took off from Aviano
airbase in Italy on Sunday (April 18)to continue the air war
against Yugoslavia.
The Italian right-wing group the Northern League staged a
demonstration at Aviano protesting NATO's presence in Italy
and NATO bombing of Yugoslavia.
Northern League leader Umberto Bossi addressed the
demonstration near the Aviano airbase.
NATO bombing raids on Yugoslavia gathered momentum early
on Monday after a slow start on Sunday night because of poor
weather, Serb media said.
Serb state television (RTS) reported a NATO missile had
hit the provincial government building in Novi Sad, capital of
the northern province of Vojvodina.
Other reported strikes on Sunday night were on the area
around Pristina, including the airport.
