- Story Text: Increasing crowds of tourists have been flocking to Thailand's Rosegarden, about 25 miles south of Bangkok, recently to see the sport of bullfighting.
Thailand's answer to the Spanish national pastime, however, is slightly different form the accepted method. The bulls fight each other and, aside from two handlers, no humans are involved.
Fans of the popular sport hold that Thailand's version is not as bloody as the accepted sport -- the bulls are equal in weight, size and weaponry they say, and they are not weakened in any way before the contest begins.
Thailand is noted for its variety of unusual sports but bullfighting has not been widely publicised. Most of the spectators are tourists. Thousands visit the famous Rosegardens every year and bullfighting is laid on for those who wish to watch.
The game provides some interesting home movie footage for those who wish to film the event and the contest has the full blessing of the Rosegarden organisers who are forever on the lookout for new ways to attract visitors.
The contest is not fought to first blood or to the death and both bulls are usually in good condition, if not slightly tired, at the end.
