- Story Text: - INTRO: The amateur bullfighters of San Ignacio have taken another pounding during the annual all-comers bullfighting festival as they vied with one another in a traditional display of bravado.
-------------------------------------------------------------- Determined to prove their "manliness", men from the the town of San Ignacio recently threw caution to the wind taking turns to taunt a large bull during the annual bull fighting ceremony known as the "jocheo".
The bullfighters, known a "jocheros", say the ritual offers an opportunity to prove their courage. Local superstitions claim success in challenging the bull will bring great wealth in cattle herds.
"We are all real men in San Ignacio and this is our chance to show it," said Wilfredo Rojas, sporting a new bruise around his left eye where the bull trampled him underfoot.
Several other "jocheros" were trampled and received treatment at nearby hospitals.
