- Story Text: Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva met with British leader Gordon Brown in Washington D.C. on Friday (November 14) on the eve of a G20 summit designed to overhaul the global financial system Lula said earlier this week he did not expect major results from the meeting, but hoped the summit would relaunch stalled global trade talks.
As a major farm goods exporter, Brazil played a key role in the Doha round, trying to forge a common front with other developing nations.
