- Story Text: Viet Cong gunners shelled a fuel depot near the big military base at Tay Ninh, northwest of Saigon, on Wednesday (22 March). They killed seven people and blew up an estimated 143,000 gallons (650, 000 litres) of fuel.
The fuel depot, on the western edge of Tay Ninh, is the headquarters of the 25th Infantry Division which recently joined & South Vietnamese thrust into eastern Khmer.
A military command spokesman said the fuel depot was Hit during a shell attack. In a second attack, he added, five rockets hit houses near the base, killing the seven people.
