- Story Text: At least five people were killed on Friday (July 11) when a bus with 68 Polish tourists slipped off a highway north of Belgrade, local media reported.
The crash happened at 7 am (0500 GMT) at Indjija, halfway between Belgrade and Novi Sad, 80 kilometres to the north-west.
The passengers on the bus were mostly children who were returning from holidays in Bulgaria.
Five paramedic teams from Belgrade rushed to the scene of the accident and several others from Novi Sad and the nearby towns Indjija and Ruma. Police were not immediately available for comment.
News agencies in Serbia quoted hospital officials in Novi Sad saying seven people were in critical condition. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
