- Story Text: An accident involving a bus in the Himalayan nation of Nepal left around 45 people dead on Thursday (October 13) as it manouvered off the road and down a steep rocky hill.
The bus broke up into numerous pieces of wreckage scattered over a small area.
Blood stains were visible after the accident and only around a dozen from the 60 passengers survived the crash.
"A few days earlier I had come here to my wife's place along with my brother who had also come to his bride's home. I returned yesterday but my brother was supposed to come back today, instead I got a call telling me that my brother had been in accident, so I hurried in from Kathmandu, but didn't find him," said an identified relative of one of the victims.
Ambulances helped carry the injured from the site of the crash in Sindhuli to a nearby hospital in Dhulikhel. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
