Story Text: At least seven people were killed and forty-eight others were wounded on Saturday (April 2) when a bus carrying students veered off a road in northern Iraq's province city of Sulimaniya police said.
Police said the bus carrying students from Kirkuk university fell into a valley near Duckan dam in Sulimaniya about 260 km (160 miles) northeast Baghdad.
Police forces and rescue teams raced to the scene of the crash where they attempted to free survivors from the twisted wreckage.
Those who survived the crash, looked on at the site of the carnage.
Many of the injured were carried off on stretchers and taken to local hospitals.
Hospital sources said they expect the death toll to rise.
