- Story Text: In West Germany, the salvage work continues on the Russian MIG which crashed into West Berlin lake.
The jet fighter crashed into the lake near a large block of flats in a densely populated are of the city. Two bodies have now been recovered and four russian officers were allowed to stay at the lakeside to watch.
A strong protest has been delivered to the Soviet authorities charging that the crash was another example of "irresponsible and careless flying".
While British troops maintained a strong security guard around the lake and frogmen plunged in the waters in search of more wreckage, Soviet fighters continued air exercises overhead that have been on for more than a week. They broke the sound barrier with loud bangs several times today.
